Thinking of going to Disney World with your little human, but afraid of what’s in store for you and your spouse? Worry no more, friends! Here are some tips and tricks for you to follow to make sure you’re all happy in the Happiest Place on Earth! Location
Think about where you want to stay. Some people prefer to go the cheaper route and stay in a non-Disney hotel or motel, but I don’t recommend this. We stayed at the All Star Music Resort. It was within 15 minutes of all the parks (Magic Kingdom being furthest away) and has free shuttle bus transportation to all hotel guests. This is key. Ain’t nobody got time to hop in the car every time you want to head over to a park or go back to the hotel for a mid-day pool dip or exhausted end-of-the-night trip back. I, personally, like the All Star resorts (there are 3 - Movies, Music & Sports) because they’re clean, close-by, and adorable. The pools are large and give you a choice between fun (music, MC & activities for the kids, etc) and quiet. There’s also a decent food court (for breakfast only, the rest of the food is not good) and a fun arcade. The best part of All Star is the price. Unlike other Disney resorts like Caribbean Beach (which I’ve stayed at in the past), it won’t break the bank. A 3-night stay with 2-day park hopper pass was a grand...not terrible! Though it’s a modest-sized and decorated room, Caribbean Beach’s was exactly the same size! Baby Attire & Accessories Stroller Umbrella: I cannot recommend the Sport-Brella SPF 50+ enough. Our stroller was the ONLY one in Disney World with it, and we had so many parents ask where we got it! I’m not going to lie, it’s big. Like hit everyone you pass big. But totally worth it! My 4-month-old is too little for sunscreen, so her pediatrician told us to keep her out of the sun at ALL times. This bad boy did the trick! She was shaded every second she was in her stroller, and we simply closed it up every time we parked it to go onto a ride. It also helped us to find our stroller in the 700 ones that were parked nearby! By the way, it’s only $20 on Amazon! It was strong, but broke immediately (probably cheaply made). My husband finagled it and half-fixed it so that it still worked, but with wires hanging out. We then bought an adorable Mickey Mouse stroller fan with a big Mickey hand as the clip for $16, but the breeze wasn’t nearly as strong. It was, however, much more heavy-duty and not as breakable. Not sure which is better — the flimsy one with the good breeze, or the sturdy one with the lesser breeze. Maybe there’s a better one on Amazon that’s a happy medium though! The fan we originally bought is $16 on Amazon: TianNorth Clip Fan Rechargeable Battery Operated Clip on Mini Desk Fan for Baby Strollers, Home, Office, Dorm, Outdoor (Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFHY7G9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_tRmG95AzGuMY3 Sun hat: We have a little girl so obviously she’s always in an adorable headband with a big bow — but in Florida I had to sacrifice these for a sun hat. The sun is just too strong to be beating down on that bald little head! Our hat (borrowed from one of my besties the day before we left!) really came in handy every single day of the trip. I recommend getting different ones if you want your pictures to look different every day! Two Changes of Clothes: RIP to my favorite Minnie Mouse dress that had to be THROWN AWAY at Hollywood Studios after a poop diaper explosion. We changed her into a spare outfit, which she then spit up on. Therefore, I recommend two changes of clothes (and a couple bibs) if you want to be safe than sorry!

Rides & Attractions There’s a cool thing called a “Rider Switch” or “Child Swap”, where one parent waits on line for a ride & then gets a Fast Pass for their spouse to go on after him/her. (Supposedly depending on the wait times it can be right away or they give you a time frame to come back later in the day.) We only used this once — on Space Mountain in Epcot — and it worked really well. I fed the baby while my husband went on, and then he hung out with her while I went on. We only did this one “big” ride because we pretty much went in with the thought process that we were going to Disney for the baby and would really only go on rides/attractions that she would like. However, if you have loads of time and many days at Disney and want to go on all the adult rides and don’t mind going on without your spouse, totally take advantage of Child Swap! Here are my recommendations for the following “baby” rides, attractions & shows: Magic Kingdom It’s a Small World: Baby loved it. She looked around and was very interested in everything going on. It was bright, fun, and had pleasant music and dancing dolls. Slow moving boat wasn’t at all scary for her. Highly recommend. The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Possibly recommend. My husband said the baby liked this one, but I found Tigger to be VERY loud and a little scary for a tiny baby. Peter Pan’s Flight: I absolutely DO NOT recommend this ride. Not only was it dark & scary, but it flies in the air and I literally felt like the baby was going to fall out. I held onto my baby even though my husband had her tightly in his arms because I was that nervous. She looked scared & whimpered a bit at times. Regretted this one for sure. Mickey’s Philharmagic: This is a cute 3-D show but, again, VERY loud. We sat up front so maybe it would be less loud if you sat further back. We also got wet, which I didn’t like and confused the baby. Obviously she didn’t wear 3-D glasses, and we took ours off because they were terrible anyway. Basically the baby will just see everything doubled. Recommend. Hopefully this post helps to make your magical vacation, well, magical!
